The speckled coloring seen in a lot of the Kiko lines, particularly the Mr. Speckles and LEN 8 lines, go back to CNB’s Girl 010 who appears in both of their pedigrees. She was bought by Troy Lohman out of the Hemphill herd dispersal through Craig Adams. Since she was unique as a moon spotted Kiko, Troy wanted her DNA tested. She was excluded to Sunboy Stanton 149 contrary to pedigree. He always suspected her sire was ELH Blue Boy 1L, but he was dead without DNA on file. She was in the same kid crop as Blue’s Son, Hemp’s Golden Boy, Hemp’s El Negro and a few other famous Kikos. CNB 010 was a kid raising machine. She was moderate to small in size and her kids always outweighed her at weaning. She was chocolate colored with big white moon spots all over her.
